461611 - Tell your captain not to throw the anchor. Tie up at the mooring or behind another boat. Surface swim to the N corner and check underwater that there is only a light current from the N. Descend rapidly from the N corner by heading into the current at the same time as going down the slope. After you descend past the top of the overhanging wall at 27m you can turn around and drift with the current down to the bottom of the wall (there's less current down here and it feels great!). There is a cave at the bottom southern corner of the wall at 38m which often has a large ray or shark in it. When you reach the end of the wall continue S, down the slope a little to 42m and you can look inside some very interesting caves and craters. Around this time you will only have a couple of minutes of NDC time left on your computer so make your way back up the slope early so you can continue a multilevel dive around the popular 24m-15m outcrops and then back into Gamat bay at 5m, surfacing at the mooring line 3 mins later. The caves at 42m are also a cleaning station for Molas in Aug/Sept. NB if you cannot make it back into Gamat there is a small cove to the south, half way to Crystal Bay. Tell your capt to look for you there if you're not back in half an hour! Max Depth 42m. Total Dive Time 25-30mins. No Deco.
