 Informations supplémentaires

English (Traduisez ce texte en Français): The top of the reef is at 4m on the southern edge, dropping to 21m on the north-eastern edge. The highlight of this dive is a green tree that towers about 2.5m. Just south of the green tree is a spectacular system of swim troughs, overhangs and caves. Huge green coral tree.

The major draw to this reef is a massive green coral tree with millions (well, maybe hundreds) of sea goldies. As this is a deeper reef and more remote the local fish life is extensive. Look around every now and then and you may see some larger fish in the blue.

.:::On of the best dive sites:::. - In the year 2000, the end of the second millennium, I went to South Africa for an internship at the Wits University of Jo'burg. This internship was part of my study towards the bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering. During my stay in Jo'burg I followed the PADI dive course "Advanced Open Water Diver". The climax in this course was the 3 days stay at the desolated Sodwana Bay....2 miles reef, 5 miles reef and 9 miles reef....where we the finished our final stage of the dive course to become Advanced. We did in totall 9 dives...among a nightdive....breathtaking. The reefs are situated deeper as normally...15-20mtrs. The vision at the time...definitely over the 25mtrs. At the surface looking down you tend to get dinophobia. Lots of seelife is kicking in there....turtle (1,5m!), big big bras (during the nightdive he was eating himself to the fullest), ptriggerfish, parrot fish, Moray eel, pipefish, bannerfish, wrasses, butterflyfish, surgeonfish...etc. Not only the dive sites are terrific, but also the boattrip towards the reefs....full speed against the breaking....and backwards with full speed, roughly trough the breaking, skimming the beachshore!!! Awesome experience...priceless!! If you are nearby Sodwana Bay....definitely go there and dig this place!!
